Unsure Whether Your Baby Needs Treatment?

Many parents are uncertain whether a division is needed — that’s completely normal.

At Baby Acorn Clinic:

  • Every appointment begins with a detailed functional assessment
  • Clinicians explain findings clearly and discuss whether frenulotomy is suitable
  • If another approach may help more (e.g., feeding support or musculoskeletal care), we will recommend the most appropriate pathway

Integrated Support Beyond Tongue Tie

Feeding difficulties are not always caused by tongue tie alone. Musculoskeletal factors, tension, or alignment issues can also affect latch and comfort.

Being part of Kube Medical means you have access to:

  • Chiropractors
  • Osteopaths
  • Physiotherapists
  • Practitioners experienced in infant feeding and paediatric care

If your baby’s challenges are not solely due to tongue tie, we can help identify the root cause and direct you to the right support.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What age do you treat?

We treat babies under 1 year old. For babies aged 8–12 months, a clinician may contact you first to discuss suitability.

  • Do you divide lip ties?

No. Current guidance does not recommend lip tie division in infants.

  • Can treatment be done during the same appointment?

Yes — when clinically appropriate, frenulotomy is performed during the same visit as the assessment.

  • How do I know if my baby needs a tongue tie division?

The best starting point is our free infant clinic, where you can speak with a practitioner. If you prefer, you can book a full assessment directly.

  • Do you offer home visits?

Yes, on request and subject to practitioner availability.

  • What happens after the procedure?

Support is provided immediately after treatment, with additional advice via phone, video, or email as needed.
