Newsletter: February 2024

Patrick Campbell • 2 February 2024

Dear Patients,

The year has started incredibly quickly. It feels like only a moment since we were writing our January newsletter, yet there is already an enormous amount to include.

Awards, Registrations and New Services

In January, we heard that our application to register with the Care Quality Commission was successful. This allows us to offer a broader range of blood tests at the clinic. The CQC ensures providers of health and social care services in England do so in a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led manner.

Our strengthened focus on clinical governance has helped us obtain the Royal College of Chiropractors’ Clinical Management Quality Mark. This accreditation is held by only a handful of Chiropractic practices in the UK. Sam was delighted to collect the award at the RCC’s Annual General Meeting on 31st January.

We’ve seen an increased number of patients needing more frequent dressing changes than their primary healthcare provider is able to offer. We are expanding our services to include Wound Care to respond to this demand.

Our new services are available from 8th February.

Team News

Our new Physiotherapist, Sharon, will be joining the team shortly to replace Karlo. Her expected start date is 26th February.  With over 20 years of experience in both children and adults, her expertise will be a great addition to the team.

Lexie joined the admin team earlier in January, but we continue to hunt for the right candidate for our Admin/Marketing position. If you are interested, or know someone who is, please let us know!

Physiotherapy Students

Ben and Lewys have been on placement with us as part of the third year of their degree at the University of the West of England. Under supervision of their lecturers, they have been working with some of our patients to help them reach their goals.

We aim to support the future of our industry by offering placement opportunities to university and school students. Contact us to find out more.

Kube Medical | Clinical Integrity
by Patrick Campbell 14 June 2025
Like many businesses in healthcare, we sometimes receive feedback that is difficult to read — not because it challenges us, but because it doesn’t reflect the care and intention with which our team works every day. Recently, a negative review was shared online that has been mentioned by both current and prospective patients. While we always value constructive feedback and use it to review our processes, I wanted to take a moment — from my perspective as a non-clinical Director — to clarify how we work, and the values that guide our decisions when it comes to patient care.

As a Physiotherapist with over six years of experience working with athletes, I've encountered a pattern that’s all too familiar — the dedicated, driven sports person who finds themselves stuck in limbo after an injury. One particular case stands out, and it’s a scenario I see frequently, especially with individuals recovering from sports injuries in Swindon.

Every so often, I come across someone who’s been told, or believes, they have cervical kyphosis. It’s a term that sounds serious and often sparks fear, confusion, or a sudden identity shift: “I have a curved neck; I must be broken.” Today, I saw just that—someone on social media seeking help after self-diagnosing with cervical kyphosis.

If you have private health insurance with Bupa, Axa, Aviva, Vitality, or WPA, you may be eligible to receive Chiropractic, Osteopathy, or Physiotherapy treatment at Kube Medical in Swindon. Many health insurance policies cover musculoskeletal treatments, but it’s important to understand how the process works, what is covered, and how to make a claim. This guide will walk you through the insurance process, what treatments are covered, and how to book an appointment using your insurance.
