Swindon clinic invests in new healing technology

Kube Medical, a Chiropractic, Osteopathic and Physiotherapy clinic, has made a significant investment in technology. By adding a therapy laser to its arsenal, the Swindon clinic is expanding its capabilities to provide excellence in accelerated injury recovery to its patients.

Laser therapy is a non-invasive and pain-free treatment option for various kinds of injuries and ailments. It helps to promote faster wound healing, relieving pain and inflammation. Laser therapy works through a process referred to as photobiomodulation, which can stimulate or inhibit cellular function. This process delivers a therapeutic dose of light to the targeted tissue.

A relatively new technology, there is a growing evidence base for the effectiveness of Class IV therapy lasers. During a pre-purchase trial period, the laser exceeded all expectations within the clinic.

Clinical Director, Samantha Campbell said “We found patients responded really well. One patient with a broken wrist felt well enough after just two treatments to try knocking down a wall! While we wouldn’t recommend this, their experience convinced us that it was a capability we had to have.”

Since introducing laser therapy to its treatments, patients have received treatment on sports injuries, scar tissue, and as part of their Chiropractic and Osteopathic treatment plans. The clinic has run a number of case studies to demonstrate its capabilities. In one case study, 18 year old rugby player Tom Bieneman received treatment in the week following a shoulder dislocation.

“It’s been amazing and I’ve had no pain since doing the treatment.” Said Tom. A week and a half after injury, he is progressing onto rehabilitation work, representing a significant improvement on normal expected progress – approximately three weeks to achieve this milestone.

Fitness enthusiast, Steve Tomlin, 59, injured his leg during a class.

“I had a laser session for both calf and hamstring on my leg. It was as if the practitioner had a magic wand not a laser.” Said Steve. “I did an exercise class the following morning, taking it steady to ease back into exercise, and again the muscles felt pretty good. I had another one two days later and by the next day there was no pain at all. Laser seems the way forward!”

“Laser Therapy is used extensively within elite and professional sports to aid with their rehab and recovery programmes.” Said K-Laser Territory Manager, Derek Tillotson. “Incorporating this technology within the clinic underlines Kube Medical’s commitment to providing first rate care to its patients.”

Kube Medical | Clinical Integrity

Like many businesses in healthcare, we sometimes receive feedback that is difficult to read — not because it challenges us, but because it doesn’t reflect the care and intention with which our team works every day. Recently, a negative review was shared online that has been mentioned by both current and prospective patients. While we always value constructive feedback and use it to review our processes, I wanted to take a moment — from my perspective as a non-clinical Director — to clarify how we work, and the values that guide our decisions when it comes to patient care.

As a Physiotherapist with over six years of experience working with athletes, I've encountered a pattern that’s all too familiar — the dedicated, driven sports person who finds themselves stuck in limbo after an injury. One particular case stands out, and it’s a scenario I see frequently, especially with individuals recovering from sports injuries in Swindon.

Every so often, I come across someone who’s been told, or believes, they have cervical kyphosis. It’s a term that sounds serious and often sparks fear, confusion, or a sudden identity shift: “I have a curved neck; I must be broken.” Today, I saw just that—someone on social media seeking help after self-diagnosing with cervical kyphosis.
