Newsletter: May 2024

Patrick Campbell • 30 April 2024

After a rather dreary April, we're still hoping that Spring is on its way. However, we're here with the latest news from the team to brighten your day!

Bank Holidays

The clinic will be closed on Monday 6th and Monday 27th May. Our practitioners' diaries are usually very busy around bank holidays, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Double Discount Referrals

How would you like a free appointment? We offer a discount to existing patients who refer new patients to the clinic. Normally we give you £5 treatment credit. Throughout May, we are doubling our referral credit to £10.

Myo Munchee

We're always working to improve our skillset, as well as the products and services we offer. During April, our Clinical Lead Chiropractor, Samantha, completed Bebe Certification, allowing her to work with Myo Munchee products.

Kube Medical | Bebe Certified

Myo Munchees help to improve chewing in children and adults, with the following benefits:

  • Promoting nasal breathing
  • Improving lip and tongue strength
  • Jaw health and development
  • Development of teeth and gums

Ear Wax Removal Clinic

From Thursday 16th May, DeafEnders Ear Care will be running a weekly pop-up clinic from Kube Medical. Cathryn and Sarah are nurse practitioners who provide this CQC-registered service from their Devizes clinic. Consultations are by appointment and can be booked directly with the DeafEnders team.

Events

Unfortunately, the peri/menopause workshop with Sarah Shah that was planned for this month has been cancelled. We wish Sarah a speedy recovery and look forward to rearranging this event for the future.

Infant clinic will take place as normal on Tuesday 7th and Tuesday 21st May from 1-3pm. This is a free drop-in clinic

Competition

To mark the end of our season's sponsorship with Swindon Town FC, we held a massive ticket giveaway on our Facebook and Instagram pages. As well as giving away 23 tickets, several current and former members of the Kube Medical team and their families went along to watch the 3-3 draw against Morecambe.

While the football may be over, the County Ground will be hosting Chris Moyles' 90s Hangover on Saturday 25th May. Tickets are available here.

Testimonials

Callum Hughes is the founder of Velo Clinic and is a certified Retül bike fitter.  Callum takes a holistic approach to bike fitting, focusing on the persons mobility and goals. He has extensive experience fitting bikes for cyclists and triathletes alike, as well as both coaching and competing in both disciplines himself.

"After tearing my meniscus for the second time and my MCL (yes it was bad), I had spoken to the team at Kube to determine the best approach for me to get back training and racing (triathlons and mountain biking).

"I came in to see Sam and assumed it would be a blast with the K-Lazer the  off I go. Sam assessed me and went through a very thorough diagnosis of my injuries, not just the symptoms I had.

"Spotting that my back was out of alignment and getting to work  correcting it. After three visits, I was back running and my knee felt like new. I felt new. It's odd to say after I originally tore my meniscus 6 years prior to the second time, I never thought I would be able to get back to training without surgery but Sam did it."

Kube Medical | Clinical Integrity
by Patrick Campbell 14 June 2025
Like many businesses in healthcare, we sometimes receive feedback that is difficult to read — not because it challenges us, but because it doesn’t reflect the care and intention with which our team works every day. Recently, a negative review was shared online that has been mentioned by both current and prospective patients. While we always value constructive feedback and use it to review our processes, I wanted to take a moment — from my perspective as a non-clinical Director — to clarify how we work, and the values that guide our decisions when it comes to patient care.

As a Physiotherapist with over six years of experience working with athletes, I've encountered a pattern that’s all too familiar — the dedicated, driven sports person who finds themselves stuck in limbo after an injury. One particular case stands out, and it’s a scenario I see frequently, especially with individuals recovering from sports injuries in Swindon.

Every so often, I come across someone who’s been told, or believes, they have cervical kyphosis. It’s a term that sounds serious and often sparks fear, confusion, or a sudden identity shift: “I have a curved neck; I must be broken.” Today, I saw just that—someone on social media seeking help after self-diagnosing with cervical kyphosis.
