Newsletter: October 2024

Patrick Campbell • 7 October 2024

The spooky season is upon us and we hope that you have all had a lovely summer. We hope that you can join us in getting in the autumnal mood and ready for the trick or treating season!

Staff Changes - Phlebotomy

     Aneta

Aneta is one of our new Phlebotomists at Kube Medical. She will be working in the evenings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to help deliver vitamin injections and blood draws. Aneta is a fully trained aesthetic practitioner and phlebotomist who can not wait to help new patients on their health journey.

Sue

Sue is our other new Phlebotomist and will be working Monday and Wednesday mornings to help take blood and administer our vitamin injections. Sue has 18 years of experience working in hospitals and general practices and is excited to start this new journey with us.

Physiotherapy students

Kube Medical | Student Physio

Aidan and Tom are our two Physiotherapy students from the University of the West of England. They are seeing some patients for a few weeks this month. There will be an administrative charge of £10 per appointment for these. We're updating Calendly with their availability each week.

Further appointments will be available in November when we welcome our next round of students.

Student Physio Booking

Quality Scores

89% of patients reported very good satisfaction or better with the care they received in the six months to 30th September 2024. 85% of patients reported good satisfaction or better with reception services in the same period.

Laser Therapy Packages

In response to patient demand, we have created intensive laser treatment packages. These are designed to help patients overcome acute injuries, particularly at the stage where they are not yet able to start rehabilitation or benefit from other treatments. We’ve done some case studies, including broken bones and torn muscles. The results have been very compelling.

Events

We’ve booked some exciting new events in the coming months:

  • Baby clinic will be running on a slightly altered schedule from our usual 1st and 3rd Tuesdays during the summer. Our paediatric trained practitioners will be on hand from 1-3pm to discuss your circumstances at this free drop-in session on the following dates:
  • Tuesday 15th October
  • Tuesday 5th November
  • Tuesday 19th November

Last Minute Massage

We will also be releasing our last minute massage availability here each week.

Vitamin Boosters

We have updated our prices of our vitamin injections for Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Vitamin B12 as well as the Silver and Gold Booster Packages! The new prices are:

  • Vitamin C = £40
  • Vitamin D = £55
  • Joint C & D = £80
  • B12 single = £40
  • B12 course of 3 = £105
  • B12 course of 6 = £180
  • Silver Booster Package = £125
  • Gold Booster Package = £260

However, if you do not have your own prescription, there will be a £25 prescription charge in addition to the vitamin charge, so we can provide you with a private prescription as these are prescription vitamins.

All the best,

Sam, Patrick and the Team at Kube Medical

Kube Medical | Clinical Integrity
by Patrick Campbell 14 June 2025
Like many businesses in healthcare, we sometimes receive feedback that is difficult to read — not because it challenges us, but because it doesn’t reflect the care and intention with which our team works every day. Recently, a negative review was shared online that has been mentioned by both current and prospective patients. While we always value constructive feedback and use it to review our processes, I wanted to take a moment — from my perspective as a non-clinical Director — to clarify how we work, and the values that guide our decisions when it comes to patient care.

As a Physiotherapist with over six years of experience working with athletes, I've encountered a pattern that’s all too familiar — the dedicated, driven sports person who finds themselves stuck in limbo after an injury. One particular case stands out, and it’s a scenario I see frequently, especially with individuals recovering from sports injuries in Swindon.

Every so often, I come across someone who’s been told, or believes, they have cervical kyphosis. It’s a term that sounds serious and often sparks fear, confusion, or a sudden identity shift: “I have a curved neck; I must be broken.” Today, I saw just that—someone on social media seeking help after self-diagnosing with cervical kyphosis.

If you have private health insurance with Bupa, Axa, Aviva, Vitality, or WPA, you may be eligible to receive Chiropractic, Osteopathy, or Physiotherapy treatment at Kube Medical in Swindon. Many health insurance policies cover musculoskeletal treatments, but it’s important to understand how the process works, what is covered, and how to make a claim.
